Dongguan Rail Transit refers to urban rail transit serving Dongguan City, China, including Dongguan Metro system, monorail system, etc. Its first line was officially opened on May 27, 2016, making Dongguan the 27th city in mainland China with a subway.
According to the official website of Dongguan Rail Transit in August 2017, there is a total of 1 operating line of Dongguan Rail Transit, namely Dongguan Rail Transit Line 2, which covers 7 municipal districts, with an operating mileage of 37.8 kilometers, a total of 15 stations, and a subway system.
According to the official website of Dongguan Rail Transit in August 2017, there are 3 sections of Dongguan Rail Transit under construction, including the Phase I project of Line 1, the Phase III project of Line 2 and the Phase I project of Line 3, with a total length of 126.9 kilometers. By 2020, Dongguan Rail Transit will have 6 operating lines, with a total length of 307.8 kilometers, 84 stations, including 8 urban rail transfer hub stations, and 32 towns.
In the second half of 2016, Dongguan Rail Transit had a passenger volume of 21 million in the second half of the year, with an average daily passenger volume of more than 115,400 and a maximum daily passenger volume of 253,200.
